HVIFF was established to showcase the accomplishments of female writers and directors. This means that your project qualifies if it was written or directed by a woman or if it deals with female issues.
We also aim to champion mixed-gender writing and directing teams. Let's cheer on equality and respect in the writer's room, on set, and in the editing suite.

This Festival, curated by Caterina Campagna is one of the warmest, filmmaker-friendly festivals I've attended over the past 10 years during my circuit tenure. First and foremost, to celebrate one another as women, artists and creatives feels wonderful. What more could you ask for? A relaxing, intimate environment, kind staff, free drinks and great films made my entire weekend. The networking was warm and genuine. First-class. And did I mention our film, "Mother Knows Best" won best overall drama, best actor and actress? That, was the cherry on top. I highly recommend submitting to Her Vision Int'l Film Festival. Caterina works super hard to promote your film, and communicates with intention, which I greatly appreciate.

I had an amazing time participating in the festival this year with my film Sister Wives! The team were lovely and made the whole process really easy and stress-free. Their communication was great, and it was clear they’re passionate about supporting filmmakers. The festival featured a great mix of films, showcasing diverse voices and genres.
